Nexpand cabinets customized to meet Autoroutes Paris Rhin Rhone specific requirements
Freeway manager has equipped its new data center with Nexpand cabinets from Legrand Datacenter Solutions. A strategic choice for the design of its Information Technology room, as Valery Pierre Chalimon, Deputy Chief Information Officer at Autoroutes Paris Rhin Rhone, showed us.

Autoroutes Paris Rhin Rhone, is a subsidiary of Eiffage, which maintains and manages 2,323 kilometer of freeways and toll roads granted to it by the French government. Its Information Technology is strategic; it hosts and manages the freeways' daily tools such as real time displays and toll payments, not to mention the service to more than 3,500 employees. The group has several datacenters, but they needed a datacenter close to the freeways in order to meet performance objectives. DTIX, a Dijon based company that had a project to build a datacenter, was the ideal partner to support in this deployment. The DTIX Information Technology center was built in close cooperation between Autoroutes Paris Rhin Rhone and DTIX. Of the three rooms in the 700 m2 datacenter, the company has a private room with a capacity of 20 cabinets.
The solution
Autoroutes Paris Rhin Rhone and Legrand Datacenter Solutions teams met several times in the manufacturer's showroom to see Legrand's datacenter equipment, including Nexpand cabinets. These meetings allowed Autoroutes Paris Rhin Rhone to understand how to use cabinets and accessories. Autoroutes Paris Rhin Rhone also configured the cabinets to think ahead on how to design their datacenter.
Nexpand cabinets
Nexpand is Legrand's premium configure to order cabinet platform for the datacenter market. It offers a highly configurable design with ready to ship parts that provide shorter delivery times and faster deployment. The cabinet is constructed with a lightweight solid aluminum frame, a 3,500 lbs static load capacity, and aluminum extrusions, ensuring that it will stand the test of time.
We are satisfied with the partnership and support from Legrand Datacenter Solutions throughout the project, which proved to be strategic for the design of the room, the performance of the teams in charge of the cabling, and the security of the Information Technology equipment in the racks.
