Optimized Cooling | Legrand United Arab Emirates

Cooling Systems

Datacenters are increasingly using energy efficient cooling techniques, such as free cooling. Legrand offers a variety of active cooling systems, both DX and H2O.

To reduce energy consumption, it is therefore necessary to reduce the consumption used for cooling servers.

This requires :

  • Optimized urbanization of the clean room (computer room, the heart of the data center): Legrand offers you support in choosing solutions during the definition phase of the room's urbanization (design).
  • The choice of perfectly adapted cooling solutions.

Data centers are increasingly using energy-efficient cooling techniques, such as free cooling. We offer a variety of active cooling systems, both DX and H2O:

  • Separation of hot and cold air
  • Optimization of the cold air circuit

Cold Aisle Containment

Cold Aisle Containment

Beyond a simple separation of flows via the creation of dedicated aisles, cold aisle containment allows for the containment of aisles for optimized cooling. Hot and cold air are separated from the definition of the room through the use of roofs, panels and doors (at the entrance and exit). This effectively reduces the energy consumption of the air conditioners (visible through the reporting of air conditioner consumption). Containment of cold aisles results in an average of 30% energy savings.

Room Cooling

Room Cooling

It is done by means of Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) units. Traditionally, the cold air is sent into the false floor with a slight overpressure and exits through perforated tiles into the cold aisle. The hot air is discharged into the hot aisle and retreated by the cooling unit.

Row Cased Cooling Solutions

Row Cased Cooling Solutions

These "Row Cased Cooling Solutions" (between or in the cabinets) reduce the complexity of the installation and cool as close as possible to the server. Particularly suitable for high density solutions or for rooms without false floors, Row Cased Cooling optimizes the airflow to be as short as possible, resulting in less heat loss.
